A route as a starting point
The museum description mentions Labyrinthia as a permanent route. That can give you something to hold on to if you do not yet have a preferred subject. Check beforehand which exhibitions are running alongside it and where you want to linger.
Attention to human remains
Among the museum’s well-known subjects are the Yde Girl (Meisje van Yde) and the Weerdinge Couple (Paar van Weerdinge). These are human remains. Take time for the context the museum provides and for the distinction between find, research and interpretation.
Keeping Assen and Eelde apart
DM De Buitenplaats in Eelde is part of the same museum organisation but has its own visitor location. So check the address for an exhibition. A ticket or programme from the organisation does not automatically refer to Brink 1.
Before you go
Check Monday opening during holidays and public holidays. The museum garden has its own hours, which are shorter in winter.
