Letters as a route map
Letters, photographs and projections link the room to landscape and thoughts. Read one passage closely and look for the visible detail in the room or the visual presentation that corresponds to it.
Small place, wider journey
The house does not tell the story of Van Gogh’s entire career. It is precisely the focus on October–December 1883 that helps you see which circumstances and observations belong specifically to Drenthe.
Before you go
The upper floor has a stairlift; a low-stimulus visit is possible by appointment. From May to early October, weekend hours are longer than on weekdays.
