A convincing forgery
Paintings and prints refer to well-known artists, while a fake Rietveld chair is also mentioned. First look for stylistic features, then read which technical or documentary evidence disproved the attribution.
Who decides what is genuine?
Contact with the police and auction houses shows that provenance research involves several parties. For one work, ask which evidence was decisive and what uncertainty, if any, remained.
Glass after 1945
The European glass art department calls for a different kind of attention. Look at transparency, mass and the fall of light, and compare how makers from different countries make the same material behave differently.
Before you go
The winter schedule is limited to weekends in November and December; from January to March the museum is closed. The shop is also accessible without a museum visit.
