The 1517 casting mould
The mould shows that a large bell could be cast close to its eventual tower. Look at shape, scale and material, and ask which steps still followed before the bell could be rung.
Bell and war
The Maria bell was taken away in 1942 and found again in 1945. The missing children’s bell (kinderklokje) was later replaced. During your visit, ask how the museum connects this history to the bells.
Sarcophagi in the same cellar
Two sarcophagi broaden the visit from craft to burial. Note their material and shape, but do not link them to specific people or dates without an object label.
Before you go
The museum can only be visited by appointment. Daily church opening mentioned in a tourist source does not mean that the cellar is automatically open.
