De Wachter: wind, steam and craft in motion

Beleefpark Museum De Wachter brings together a mill, steam technology, a bakery and old crafts. On event days, additional machinery is actually set in motion.

Plan your visit ↗

From wind to flour

In the mill, follow how motion reaches the grinding machinery via shafts and wheels. The bakery then shows how the ground raw material becomes a product.

Steam as a source of power

The large steam collection shows another way of driving machinery. Compare flywheel, pipework and controls with the wind mechanism, and ask which source of energy could be used more predictably.

Crafts on special days

Demonstrations and theme days have their own calendar. Nationale Molendag (National Mill Day), Stoomdag (Steam Day) and Historische dag (Historical Day) are listed for 2026, but you need to check times and working machinery for each event.

Before you go

The website shows different weekly schedules. Confirm your preferred day directly and check the current calendar for holiday and event days.
