The museum’s namesake

Three houses, different subjects
The woodland cottages (wâldhúskes) described focus on fishing, crafts, trade and farm work, among other things. Look at how the furnishings make these subjects visible. The comparison need not stop at furniture: the layout and the balance between living and working count too.
Wind on the site
The De Mearmin polder mill is mentioned as a working part of the museum, depending on there being enough wind. Ask whether an explanation is possible during your visit. The mill does not have to be turning for you to understand what it does.
