A landscape as a whole
The museum’s own description mentions dioramas of regional landscapes, including the mudflats (Wad) and the woodlands (Wouden). Such a display shows animals and their surroundings together. Notice how the arrangement guides your attention, and use the explanation to identify the individual elements more closely.
From shell to stone
Shells, corals, fossils, minerals and finds from the mudflats are mentioned as other parts of the collection. This means that, alongside complete scenes, you can also look at small forms and materials. The find spot and the explanation give context to what would otherwise just be a striking object.
