The museum mentions objects, photographs, books and other documents. This combination makes it possible to see farming as more than just a series of machines. A photograph or explanation can show what questions you can ask of an implement.
Art in a farming museum
The collection description also mentions landscape paintings and work by Ids Wiersma and Tjerk Bottema, among others. Art offers a different way in from technical explanation: notice what an image emphasises and how the museum links it to the farming subject.
A selection in the farmhouse
The permanent display shows only part of the collection. If a specific object or subject is the reason for your visit, ask about it in advance. You can look at the building and the collection together without expecting everything in the collection to be on site.
Before you go
Closed on Mondays; summer and winter hours differ. Check for occasional closures and possible disruption from construction traffic.
