Keeping in touch
Communication at sea is a separate theme in the museum’s description. Connect it with the rescue work: what message needs to get across, and who needs to receive it? The presentation gives you a reason to follow the interplay between people and resources.
The horse-drawn lifeboat
The centre refers to demonstrations of the horse-drawn lifeboat on separate days. These are not a fixed part of every museum day. If you are coming to Ameland for this, you will need to check the demonstration calendar alongside the regular museum schedule.

The museum asks groups of fifteen or more to book. The site is partly wheelchair accessible; ask whether the parts you want to see can be reached.
