Starting with Douwe Egberts
According to the museum, the Douwe Egberts presentation includes the De Witte Os shop, living quarters, a warehouse and a coffee-tasting room. That lets you approach the subject from different angles: as a product, as a commodity and as part of a domestic setting.
On to metal and clocks
The museum also describes routes on metal and Frisian clocks. Notice the relationship between what an object does and what it looks like. A working function and a carefully chosen form need not be separate subjects.
Printing up close
The printing works has presses and other means of putting text on paper. Together with the other routes, this makes for a visit taking in various crafts. Choose a focus in advance, but leave room for a section you do not yet know.
Before you go
Check demonstrations and activities separately. The museum has seasonal Monday opening and specific closing days, including the usual day of the Jouster Merke fair.
