Not every space did the same job
The museum website describes a command casemate, a gun casemate and a kitchen, among others. That is a useful way to look at the site: not as a series of similar concrete buildings, but as spaces with their own tasks.
Presentations in their place
The exhibitions cover the days of May 1940 and later military history, among other things. By linking the explanation to the space you are standing in, you can ask more focused questions about use and furnishing.
Stories and remembrance
A film with interviews with veterans and memorials to the fallen are part of what is on offer. Allow time for these as well as for looking at the structures. They add other forms of storytelling and remembrance to the route.
Before you go
The route includes stairs and bridges and, according to the museum, is not suitable for wheelchair users. Check the approach route, last admission and seasonal opening.
