Life in the North Sea
The aquarium shows species from the North Sea and on certain days has feeding times with commentary. Notice how the animals are spread across the bottom, rocks and open water; their position tells you as much as colour or size.
Island and bird migration
The themed rooms cover the nature of Ameland over a long period. In 2026, ‘Van Pool tot Paradijs’ (From Pole to Paradise) about the East Atlantic Flyway is also mentioned. Check which display is open on the day of your visit.
Outside and upwards
A viewing platform and the Blotevoetenpad (barefoot trail) extend the visit beyond the galleries. The trail requires a separate or combined ticket and is not wheelchair accessible; according to the research card, the platform can be reached by lift.

The annual schedule is complex and varies by season and public holiday. Dogs are not allowed. Check the day itself with Amelander Musea or the VVV.
