From the museum you can see the clog workshop, where according to the research card hundreds of pairs are made every week. Follow shaping, hollowing out and finishing as successive steps and notice the specialised tools.
Clogs from here and elsewhere
Regional models and foreign clogs show that a wooden shoe has no universal standard shape. Compare toe, sole, decoration and wood thickness and ask which environment or wearer suits such a choice.
Try fierljeppen
The Fierljepmuseum covers the development and technique of the sport. In the Fierljeppolder you can practise over ditches; clog mini golf is also mentioned. Ask in advance which activity is available during your visit.
Before you go
A group guided tour of the workshop requires an appointment. The museum is described as wheelchair accessible; the practice polder may have different requirements.
