The collection includes everyday objects, furniture and jewellery. With each object, look at where the material crosses, bends or ends: it is precisely the joins that show how strength and form are built up at the same time.
Tradition and design
Traditional basketwork stands alongside contemporary design. Compare two objects with the same weaving technique but a different purpose; you will see how mastery of the material can remain while appearance and use change.
Knowledge behind the work
The Kenniscentrum Vlechten has documentation and a library, while workshops and courses put the craft itself centre stage. Check the calendar if you want more than the permanent display and audio tour.
Before you go
The audio tour works via a smartphone. Workshops and courses have a separate calendar and may require booking in advance.
