Hand tools from farming that relied on human and horse power form a core of the collection. With each piece, look at the handle, the wear and the leverage, and ask which physical task it was meant to make easier or more precise.
Kitchen and parlour
The farmhouse kitchen and the parlour with its box bed bring work and home life together. Compare an everyday room with the room that was furnished specifically for visitors or special occasions.
Tractors in the hay barn
The hay barn is listed as housing McCormick tractors and implements. Set their mechanical power alongside the hand tools from the first room; this gives the change in farm labour a visible scale.
