From signal to position
The display covers how incoming information was analysed. With radio and radar components, look at which step they support: receiving, interpreting or passing on. This makes an abstract communication network more concrete.
The Seeburgtisch
A glass map table with illuminated aircraft positions forms a clear centrepiece. See how a three-dimensional air situation was shown on a flat surface and which information necessarily had to be selected in the process.
The bunker as an instrument
The building itself was part of the technical chain: protection, workspace and communications came together here. Note the layout and sightlines, but bear in mind that the present museum fittings were added later.
Before you go
An older notice mentioned a temporary closure, while more recent research-card information gives regular hours again. So check the current blog or VVV (tourist office) just before you set off.
