Bolnes, Kromhout, Brons and Werkspoor stand alongside foreign manufacturers. Compare cylinder, flywheel and controls, and see which parts had to remain accessible for lubrication, starting and maintenance.
Power without a vehicle
A stationary engine gains meaning through the machine or installation it drove. For each engine, ask about its original use; without that link, all that remains is an impressive but isolated mechanism.
Open days and appointments
The museum publishes separate open days in a calendar. Outside those dates, visits are only possible by appointment. Also check whether engines will be started during your visit, as operational does not automatically mean demonstration.
