Town on the water
The display aims to bring the history of Stavoren to life. In the rooms, look for the relationship between town and water: shipping, trade or everyday use can each become visible through different objects.
Objects as a source for the town
With a local object, the maker, user and findspot are often more important than appearance alone. So read the label first and then place the object on an imaginary map of Stavoren.
Ask about the collection
The research card mentions the board and contact details but does not fully describe the display cases. So use the volunteers as additional guides and ask which object, in their view, opens up an unexpected story about the town.
Before you go
The museum is closed from November to April inclusive. Visits by appointment are mentioned outside the regular days, but always confirm this in advance.
