The steam engine
Look at the cylinders, flywheel, rods and pipes as parts of one system. Try to follow the direction of movement, but do not assume that the engine will be running during your visit or that it is entirely in its original state.
Keeping boiler and function apart
The research card states that the steam boiler on site came from elsewhere and was used for heating, not for driving this engine. That distinction prevents two striking installations from automatically becoming one historical unit.
Tools around the installation
The associated tools set maintenance alongside propulsion. Note their size and reach: heavy machinery called for equipment that let mechanics reach bolts, bearings and moving parts safely.
