Setting type letter by letter
The zetbok, composing stick and individual pieces of type make the labour behind a single line visible. Note the mirror image, spacing and evenness before the forme goes to the press.
Woodcut and monogram
A woodblock combines image and printing form. Compare the raised, cut-away areas with the print, and look for where traces of the material become part of the image.
Printing a card yourself
Older reports mention visitors using the presses and postcards for children. Ask in advance whether that demonstration is still available and supervised.
