Weapons and uniforms are part of what is described on display. For an object, read who used it and in what situation. That way the material gains context, leaving room for questions the object cannot answer on its own.
Different voices
The exhibition also addresses the Japanese occupation, the Indonesian struggle for independence and migration. Give eyewitness accounts time, and note who is speaking. A personal memory and a museum explanation can offer different kinds of information.
Museum and estate
The museum stands on an estate that also houses a home for veterans. Walking the grounds is a different form of access from visiting the galleries. Bear in mind commemorations and activities that may affect the day of your visit.
