A regimental tradition of its own
The collection focuses on a single regiment. Ask during the guided tour which subjects the presentation covers and how the collection was built up. That helps you place names and traditions that are unfamiliar to outsiders.
Explanation makes the difference
A guided visit gives you the chance to linger over a particular item. Ask what is known about its origin and why it matters to the regiment. A museum piece and a memory of it are not automatically the same kind of source.
Reception at the gate
This is a museum on military grounds. According to the visitor information, a staff member collects registered visitors from the gate. An open day therefore does not mean you can enter the grounds without an appointment.
