In the dark, hearing, touch and orientation become decisive. Follow the guide’s instructions and discuss afterwards which assumptions about independence and perception you noticed in yourself.
Exhibition as preparation
The lit exhibition offers context about seeing and not seeing and can also be visited separately. Use it before the expedition to learn words and aids, or afterwards to put your experiences in order.
Debriefing in the café
The café offers space to talk with guides. Ask concrete questions about design and daily use, without treating one experience as representative of all blind or partially sighted people.
Before you go
Book a time slot for the expedition. On Monday the museum opens only at 12.00; discuss claustrophobia or mobility limitations in advance.
