One tile, one whole
Start with a single tile and then see how several tiles form a larger picture or pattern. That difference in scale is an important part of the viewing experience. A small motif can take on a completely different effect when it is repeated.
Old and modern side by side
The collection includes both old Dutch tiles and modern designs. Compare the imagery, the colours and the surface without immediately settling on a preference. Temporary exhibitions and the permanent presentation offer different starting points for this.
Try it yourself
Tile painting is offered as an activity. Ask in advance whether it is possible at your chosen time, especially with more than six people. The museum states that it is accessible for visitors with reduced mobility and applies its own public holiday arrangements.
