Layers side by side
The soil profiles make colour differences and successive layers visible. First compare two profiles without reading the text, then look at where they come from. In this way, the relationship between visible structure and environment becomes a concrete question.
A preserved piece of soil
The profiles are preserved sections cut from the ground. They therefore show more than a loose stone or a bag of soil. A guided tour can help you understand the differences; for that you make a separate appointment.
Check your campus visit in advance
The museum is located in the Gaia building and is wheelchair accessible via a lift. The visitor page names weekday afternoons, but other listings limit the opening to Wednesday. Have your chosen day confirmed, therefore, before you travel to the campus.
