Learning to understand a practice
With religious objects, the function is not always immediately visible. So read the explanation, and for an unfamiliar object, ask when and by whom it was used. In this way, you can find a way into the presentation even without a church background.
More than recognition
Anyone who grew up with Catholic customs may well recognise things. For other visitors, the same objects can raise new questions instead. The combination of a permanent collection and temporary subjects gives room for both ways of looking.
A brief monthly window
The museum usually opens on the last Sunday of the month, following the church service. July and August are excepted. Appointments are possible for groups, and there are sometimes extra openings on special occasions.
