A rebuilt structure is an interpretation of an earlier situation. Ask which choices were made in the reconstruction and what the explanation says about the knowledge used.
Craft in action
During activities, participants demonstrate tasks. This can complement the buildings, but the available demonstrations differ by day; so check the programme in advance.
Events have a form of their own
A Viking market or children’s festival is a different kind of visit than an ordinary open weekend. Subject, crowds and access can differ, even though you are using the same site.
Before you go
Check the season and the events calendar. The visit mostly takes place outdoors; if you have mobility questions, ask about the condition and accessibility of the paths.
