With figurative art, a person, object or setting offers an initial point of reference. Then look at how colour, line and composition change the image, rather than simply naming what you recognise.
The current selection
A collection is larger than a single exhibition. Ask which works are currently on display if you are coming with a particular interest, and use the museum’s explanation as your starting point.
Combining two museums
The shared building makes it possible to combine this with city history. Check which ticket is needed for that, and divide your time so both subjects get attention.
