Clothing up close
The museum mentions Dutch traditional costume with lace, beadwork and ear irons, among other things. Try looking at one small element rather than the whole costume straight away. What strikes you about the material, decoration or fastening?
From wash-house to kitchen
The furnishings described include a wash-house with washing and ironing items and a farmhouse kitchen with cooking utensils. Compare these objects with what you use yourself. Which task do you recognise at once, and for which do you need an explanation?
A special room
According to the museum, the display also includes a lying-in room with old medical instruments. Read the explanation carefully here. A recognisable shape does not in itself tell you what an instrument was used for.
