A street, building or family story can make a good research question. See whether a photo or map relates to it and read which details are known. An image does not always show by itself when or why it was made.
Comparing different documents
Newspaper cuttings and memorial prayer cards tell their story differently from a map or postcard. Ask how you can consult the material and what context is available. That way the visit becomes more than just recognising old pictures.
A short Saturday afternoon
Regular opening is on Saturday afternoon and lasts about two hours. Outside those times you can arrange an appointment. Because the local history room is on an upper floor, it is advisable to ask in advance about access if stairs are an obstacle.
