Object and work
Do not look at the items merely as recognisable mining gear, but ask what task was carried out with them. Texts and photos can help to place an object within the work. This makes the collection understandable without prior knowledge of mining.
A regional memory
The society also keeps books and photos and serves as an archive and library. These activities are not automatically the same as an open museum route. Ask separately about documentation if you come with a specific family or research question.
Two afternoons a week
MijnVerleden is usually open on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, except on public holidays. Do not come on the basis of later closing times in older guides. Larger groups register in advance, so that the welcome can be adjusted to the number of visitors.
