The presentation offers different perspectives on mining in Limburg. Take time for the explanations about people and work, so that an object also gains its social and practical context.
To the mining monument
The shaft building and the winding building form a different setting from the museum galleries. A visit requires its own date and possibly a guided tour; regular museum opening does not automatically apply to the monument.
Combining a route
If you want to see both locations, plan around the Open Schacht programme first. Then you can see whether the main location fits into the same day and which tickets you need.
Before you go
Check locations, time slots and public-holiday closures. Wheelchair facilities at the main location do not guarantee equal accessibility at the mining monument; ask about both routes.
