Through a telescope
In clear weather, according to the programme, visitors can look through the instruments. Ask which celestial objects are visible that evening; a particular view or observation cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Explaining the solar system
The presentations offer a different way in from looking directly. Use the explanations to follow questions about scale and motion, even when the weather does not allow observing outdoors.
Booking an evening
Online tickets are required and capacity can fill up. Time your arrival for a presentation if you want to experience the whole programme, rather than arriving just before closing.
Before you go
In unsafe weather conditions the observatory may remain closed. Confirm your ticket, access and any mobility questions; a cloudy evening does not automatically mean the programme is cancelled.
