Reading a scale model
The Schepenkerkhof (Ships’ Graveyard) and Kolentip (Coal Tip) scale models deal with specific subjects. Read their explanation before following the details, so it is clear which situation the scale representation depicts.

The wheelhouse and simulator are mentioned as features. Ask what is available during your visit and how an activity ties in with the explanation about navigation and harbour use.
To the museum harbour
The tjalk Nooit Volmaakt adds an outdoor element. Seeing a ship moored in the harbour does not mean you can always go on board; check that route separately.
Before you go
Groups and boat trips must be booked in advance. Ask about access to the basement, harbour and ship; the various parts do not necessarily have the same accessibility.
