The museum route covers a range of building periods. Each time, read which situation is being depicted, so that you do not see all the visible fortification elements as a single whole from one time.
Experiencing the building
The stone staircase and compact rooms make the building directly tangible. Use the explanation to understand function and context; the experience of a room alone does not tell its whole history.
Adding a guided tour
A guided route can also make a link with other fortification sites. Check which walk is offered and whether it needs to be booked separately.
Before you go
The museum has no lift and is not wheelchair accessible. Check seasonal opening and book larger groups in advance; the stair route may also be a limitation for other visitors.
