With each object or work, ask which information comes from the municipal archives, the collection or the new presentation. That keeps the difference between document, heritage item and artistic interpretation clear.
A museum in transition
The move of exhibition functions to the Kapittelstraat and the depot in Geleen also makes the organisation itself a subject. Ask which rooms are actually accessible after the temporary closure.
Before you go
The museum is closed from 1 September to 10 November 2026 inclusive. Normally it is open Tuesday to Sunday 11.00–17.00; public holidays differ. Check the reopening and the programme before you set off.
