Always look at finds together with information about find spot, layer and dating. A single object is attractive, but the archaeological context determines which story can responsibly go with it.
From sherd to reconstruction
Note which steps the presentation takes between an excavated fragment and an image of the past. Ask where comparison or interpretation begins and which material comes directly from Stein.
Keeping museum and local history apart
The foundation also runs local history activities, but the working hours given for those are not museum opening hours. Rely only on a confirmed museum appointment or an announced open day.

The website mentions Tuesday to Friday 13.00–16.00, but also states ‘currently closed’ and ‘by appointment only’. Phone before you set off; groups of ten or more visit by appointment.
