Read a uniform
Look at colour, insignia of rank, headgear and wear before you judge the whole. Ask which parts are ceremonial and which were used for drill or competition.
Silver with names
King’s silver (koningszilver) and decorations link object and person. Look for years, associations and places, and check in the explanation which event belongs to a plate.
The banner as a public image
A banner uses symbols to tell how a schutterij wishes to present itself. Compare its imagery and inscriptions with photos or charters from the archive.
Before you go
Open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 13.00–17.00. Thursday is not on the schedule. The website also mentions occasional closing days, so check your visit and the calendar shortly before you set off.
