With an old object, ask where it was found, made or used. That way ‘Limburg’ becomes not a vague backdrop, but a series of specific places and communities.
Who tells the story
Pay attention to quotations, personal memories and museum texts. Each has a different source, and they sometimes show different perspectives on the same event.
Changing scale
Compare a family object with a map or timeline of the whole province. The small story reveals consequences that easily disappear in a broad historical overview.
Before you go
Open Tuesday to Sunday 11.00–17.00; closed Monday. Opening times differ on public holidays, and on 24 and 31 December the museum closes earlier. Also check the current temporary exhibition.
