Understanding a find
A fragment needs context. Look at what information is given about location, use or interpretation and how the museum deals with uncertainty or differing explanations in its texts.
A temporary subject
Alongside the permanent display there are temporary exhibitions, including on finds from the fortifications. Check what is currently on show, so that older announcements do not shape all your expectations.
The fortress tour separately
The foundation also organises visits to De Verborgen Vesting. This is a separate guided tour that you book; free access to the ArcheoHotspot does not automatically give access underground.
Before you go
Check the Wednesday and Saturday afternoon opening and any special days. The current address is Wassenaarstraat 61; the underground fortress route also has its own accessibility restrictions.
