Home life as a starting point
On the ground floor, a living room and kitchen are presented. Upstairs, other aspects of the beguines’ life are covered. In this way the museum uses the layout of a house to set different subjects side by side, with a concrete domestic setting as the starting point.
More than an interior
What is on offer includes the audiovisual presentation ‘Bruiden van Christus’ (Brides of Christ), relics from the Hamers-IJsebrand collection and a glass collection. Ask which parts are accessible during your visit. Each of the collections adds a different perspective alongside the furnished rooms.
Telling museum and courtyard apart
The museum opens on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, with shorter hours in the winter season. The courtyard and herb garden have a longer schedule. The museum is not wheelchair accessible; bear this in mind if you want to combine a visit to the courtyard with the house.
