A collection with several names
Besides Wiegersma, collection descriptions mention Charley Toorop, Leo Gestel and Jan Sluijters, among others. That offers different ways into the paintings. Ask about the current display if you are coming for a specific artist: a name in the collection is no guarantee that their work will be on view during every visit.
Work and surroundings
The presentation also draws the home and studio surroundings into the story of Wiegersma. Take time for the explanation the museum provides. That way you can connect the artworks with the story the venue tells about the artist, instead of going only by familiar names.
Planning an afternoon
The normal visiting schedule starts at twelve o’clock. For guided group tours, you are asked to get in touch at least two weeks in advance. There is a lift, and the museum describes itself as wheelchair friendly. Check the exceptions around public holidays; several days in December are closed.
