The collection covers different periods. Choose a few vehicles and see how the presentation explains the changes. Temporary exhibitions can add a further subject; check in advance what is being highlighted at the time.
On your own or with a guide
Individual visits are possible during normal opening hours. For a guided tour, make an appointment, even if you are coming with a smaller group. The museum is wheelchair friendly. Various closures apply around public holidays, and on some days in December it closes earlier.
Before you go
Check the public holiday schedule; the usual Monday closure has exceptions on Easter Monday and Whit Monday.
