Two storylines
The Guillelmite Wing and the Congregation Wing offer different perspectives. As you move from one to the other, read which community and activities the presentation covers, so that their stories do not become mixed up.
Daily work
Subjects such as the brewery, tithe barn and farm kitchen bring practical activities into view. The explanations help you understand how such elements fit within the monastic world shown.
The building too
The gatehouse gives the collection its own setting. Look at the relationship between space and presentation without attributing every visible architectural feature directly to a single historical period.
Before you go
Sunday opening is mentioned during the season; outside it, an appointment is needed. There is no museum café or restaurant, so plan any break separately and discuss accessibility in advance.
