The carriages make a clear starting point. A film covers the restoration work, after which you can look at the vehicles with different questions. Which parts catch your eye and what would you like to know more about? The museum is part of the same estate visit.
Art in a different setting
Then walk through the sculpture garden or see an exhibition. Outdoors, not only the subject changes but also the way of looking: distance and viewpoint get more room. Ask which display is on during your visit.
Plan a break
At De Mandarijn you can interrupt your visit for coffee or tea. By not planning everything back to back, you keep time to return to a carriage or artwork that interested you. Check in advance which parts are available.
Before you go
Friday and Saturday are the regular visiting days in the season. Monday to Thursday by appointment only.
