Start online with a name, place or subject. The collections include a wide variety of archives; note references to documents that seem relevant before you arrange a visit to the reading room.

An appointment helps ensure the documents you want are available in time. Check the conditions and ask what support is possible, especially if you have little experience of archival research.
The building as a subject
A digital building route is mentioned for the Citadel. It offers a different way in from the reading room and has its own practical conditions, which you should check in advance.
Before you go
Reading-room hours and chat availability differ. Allow for the midday break, preferably book ahead and ask about the accessible entrance to the Citadel.
