Tools with a function
In the smithy, look at a tool whose function you do not immediately recognise. Ask what action it was used for and what properties that required. This turns the tool into a way into the trade, rather than just an old object.
A domestic counterpart
In the house, the furnishings include a box bed (bedstee) and a stove (plattebuiskachel), among other things. They shift the focus from work to daily life. Compare the space available and ask how the different parts of the house were used.
