Watching things take shape
At the TextielLab, take time to see what work is being carried out. Ask what is being made that day and how you can follow the process. Having a workplace on site gives a different view from just looking at a finished product.
Connecting material and design
In the exhibitions, look at how material, colour and form work together. Choose a detail that appeals to you and compare it with what you saw in the lab. Not every work has to have been made the same way; the explanations help you understand the differences.
A changing programme
Each exhibition puts a different emphasis on textiles and design. Check what is currently on before you set off, especially if you are coming for a specific display. The museum shop offers a follow-up for anyone who wants to see how textile design is offered as a product.
Before you go
Preferably book in advance. The library has its own hours, which differ from the museum’s; reserve a loan wheelchair if needed.
