Start with the overview of Fort Isabella and the later barracks. The attention given to the siege of 's-Hertogenbosch belongs to a different period from the Regiment Wielrijders. Keep those layers of time apart as you go through the display.
The regiment at the centre
See how the museum’s explanation places the regiment within those surroundings. Ask what relates specifically to the cyclists (wielrijders) and what the wider history of the fort tells you. A guided tour can help to connect building, grounds and exhibition.
Plan for a Saturday afternoon
Regular opening is on Saturday afternoon. On the first Saturday there is an introductory guided tour (instaprondleiding) for which you register; museum admission has its own conditions. Appointments are possible outside the fixed hours. Check the calendar for last-minute changes and special closures.
