A shop, school, kitchen and living room offer familiar starting points. See how the furnishings evoke a particular use and read which period is meant. Not all rooms or objects necessarily represent the same moment in the past.
Different residents and trades
Fishing, farming, the workshop and military subjects broaden the route. Choose two different settings and compare what is said about daily life. That way the local past becomes more than just the history of the fortress.
Checking the Mauritshuis
Admission is free, but weddings or private hire can lead to closure. The summer and winter schedules differ by day. Because the collection is in the attic, ask in advance about access if stairs are a limitation for you.
